33-year-old motorcyclist killed in fatal crash in Lafayette

Police responded to fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Thursday morning. One man died in the crash.

The motorcyclist, Jeremiah Guilbeau, 33 of Carencro, died in the crash.

The crash occurred at 7:02am Thursday morning. Guilbeau was traveling southbound in the 2900 block of NE Frontage Road on his motorcycle when he passed a vehicle in a no passing zone. Because of that, Guilbeau struck the front quarter panel of a vehicle that was turning into the parking lot of 2909 NE Frontage Road.

Intoxication or impairment is not believed to be a factor in this crash.  Traffic investigators are handling the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
