One shot in shooting at Acadiana Mall

Officers from the Lafayette Police Department responded to a shooting at the Acadiana Mall, where one person was shot.

According to Lafayette Police, two people got into a physical altercation inside the mall around 2:30 p.m. on August 20 that resulted in a gunshot.

According to the officials, one male was shot and taken to a nearby hospital. Before the police arrived at the mall, the suspect left the area, according to the police.

The investigation is still ongoing.
