Local hospital went on lockdown due to shooting threat on Tuesday

LAFAYETTE, La. (ENN) — Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital was on lockdown Tuesday afternoon, reports say.

After we received notice of the lockdown, we reached out to our sources and was told that a “upset parent” threatened to “shoot” people in the hospital’s Record’s Department, causing hospital staff to enforce a lockdown.

We sent crews to the scene and they were able to confirm that there was a lockdown for about an hour, and police were seen guarding the hospital’s front entrance.

The lockdown has since been lifted, and it appears that the threat has been contained.
