22-year-old woman seen throwing puppies in dumpster arrested on Monday


UPDATE, 3:50pm.: St. Landry Parish Government Investigators said they arrested Jasmine Mouton and Kendall Tyler, both 22 years old of Opelousas. Authorities said both could face charges of aggravated animal cruelty. 

OPELOUSAS, La. (ENN) — Law enforcement are currently seeking information on an individual who was observed on video disposing of two puppies into a dumpster next to a commercial establishment in Opelousas on Sunday evening.


The incident, which was recorded by surveillance equipment at around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, shows a female suspect abandoning the young dogs in a dumpster located at the Sebastian West End Seafood market at 1538 W. Landry Street. The suspect is described as a woman in her mid-30s to early-40s with shoulder-length black hair, wearing a light purple top and black shorts at the time of the occurrence.


Members of the public who may have knowledge regarding the identity or location of the woman are urged to come forward with information. Tips can be provided anonymously to the St. Landry Parish Government Investigators.
