Woman found shot in car in Lafayette, authorities say

LAFAYETTE, La. (ENN) — The Lafayette Police Department was called to the 100 block of Griggs Avenue at roughly 2:08 in the morning in response to a reported shooting.

The shooting occurred as the victim was sitting in a parked car outside a house in the 100 block of Griggs Avenue. When the officers arrived, they found the female victim sitting in the car with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

She was taken to a nearby hospital by paramedics after officers on the scene administered first aid to them. The victim's condition is currently reported as stable.
