Vehicle overturned on University Ave. in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La (EVEN)– Police are currently on the scene of a crash on the 1300 block West University Avenue near the intersection of Versailles Boulevard. The crash occurred at approximately 12:00 P.M.

A vehicle traveling southbound on the 1300 block West University Avenue, crossed the center line and both oncoming northbound lanes of travel, where the vehicle then struck a utility pole. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn.

The driver of the vehicle was subsequently transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries and is listed in stable condition.

Currently, West University Avenue is back open from Versailles Boulevard to West Congress Street
