SCOTT, La (ENN) -- The start time for the Scott Mardi Gras parade has changed.
Parade officials say they are starting an hour earlier, at 10am, instead of 11am. The roads will close at 9am.
The change is due to the weather, they say.
"After consulting with local meteorologists and City of Scott Officials, the Scott Mardi Gras Parade will change the start time to 10:00am. Roads will now be closed at 9:00am," the statement read. "There are no changes to the route. This will hopefully allow us to miss the heavier rains predicted at this time."
The parade rolls this Saturday, Feb. 3, starting at 10am.
