Scott Fire puts out major vehicle fire on Mills St. on Saturday afternoon

SCOTT, La. (ENN) -- Scott Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Saturday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. on Mills Street in Scott, a release states.

Officials say they received a dispatch about a GMC Acadia engulfed in flames. Firefighters say they after they arrived quickly, and were able to gain control of the fire in a quick manner.

Mills St. was closed for a short duration of time while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and for a tow truck to remove the vehicle off of the roadway. No one was injured.

The cause of the fire was not included in the statement.
