LAFAYETTE, La. (ENN) – Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday.
According to the release, a pedestrian was hit in the 500 block of SW Evangeline Thruway, around 1:59 am. The pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene. He/she is now being treated at a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Police say that while investigators work the scene, the 500 block of SW Evangeline Thruway at Jefferson Street to Eighth Street will be closed for normal flow of traffic and motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route of travel.
