Arrest made in connection to the fatal hit-and-run on Oct. 17 in Lafayette

Lafayette, LA – New details have been released following a fatal hit and run in Lafayette that killed one pedestrian.


Theophilus Rose, 21 years old of Lafayette, was arrested and booked on a warrant for felony hit and run. Rose turned himself in.


Police say that the investigation revealed that the pedestrian was walking on the roadway at the 5100 block of W Congress St. Rose was traveling westbound on the 5100 block of W Congress St and struck the pedestrian. Rose left the scene of the crash prior to first responder’s arrival. The deceased victim of the crash was later identified as Ronald Keith Williams Jr., 43 of Duson, LA.


The crash occurred at around 8:21 pm in the 5100 block of W. Congress Street.
