Mardi Gras krewe designed for kids/teens host membership drive

A new Mardi Gras in Acadiana that was created for kids/teens is now accepting applications for new members.

Krewe de Jeunesse, meaning "Crew of Youth," is currently in the middle of their membership drive. Krewe officials say members must be between the ages of 9 and 18 and not surpassed the 12th grade.

Members gain access to fun monthly socials, such as game days, water slide days, socials, etc., an annual Ball and Tableau, opportunities to become local royalty, and community involvement activities.

"We've created a Krewe that promotes safe and responsible fun, while celebrating all of Louisiana culture, especially Mardi Gras," Lauren Domingue, the Krewe's Historian, stated. "Members get to make friends, be involved in community, and mostly just have fun!"

The deadline for signing up is May 1, 2024. There is a small membership fee. You can learn more about the Krewe on their website: info@kdjacadiana.com.
