Man found dead in ditch in Mire

MIRE, La (ENN) -- Police are investigating a suspicious death after they were called to a residence on Wednesday morning in Mire.

Reports say a woman found a deceased black male face down in a ditch in the 1000 block of Willow Cove Road.

The man has been identified as a 40-year-old black man from Church Point. His full name is being withheld at this time. According to our source, his vehicle was parked across the street from where he was found.

Police say that they are investigating and will provide further information as soon as toxicology and autopsy results come in.
