Landry’s Feed Store, a staple in the Rayne community for 70 years, burnt down on Thursday


RAYNE, LA (EVEN NEWS)- Landry's Feed Store off of Hwy 90 in Rayne has burnt down on Thursday.


EVEN News first recieved details of the fire around 6:45am this morning. This afternoon, we are being told that the fire is under control - but the entire building has burnt down.


Rayne, Branch, Mire, and Scott Fire Departments responded to the large structure fire in the 600 block of E. Texas (Hwy 90).


Landry's was a staple in the Rayne community; the store had just celebrated its 70th anniversary of being open. The cause of the fire is unclear, however, it is being investigated.


Hazmat crews and DEQ were seen on the scene. Fire officials tell us that HWY 90 is now reopen.
