High-speed vehicle pursuit ends in crash, driver fled from scene on I-10 in Rayne

RAYNE, La (ENN) -- A vehicle pursuit out of Jennings ended in a crash on I-10 near Rayne on Friday afternoon.
Officials say after the crash, the driver of the pursuited vehicle fled from police. The crash occurred on I-10 Eastbound in between Rayne and Duson. Officials say after the crash, the driver of the pursuited vehicle fled from police.
Police were able to apprehend the driver in the same area and take him into custody. Officials say the driver of the pursuited vehicle was the only vehicle to crash.
Due to multiple units in the area on both lanes of I-10, traffic on the westbound lanes were also backed up.
No injuries were reported.
I was there when they were chasing him . He almost ran me off the road. It was on the East bound side and I drove by when they were putting him in the police vehicle. I-0 was not blocked at the time. Traffic slowed and passed on the inside lane. The driver of the SUV ran off the right side of I-10 East bound.
