DUSON, La (EVEN) -- Good news for all Duson residents and consumers; the long anticipated round-a-bout at Hwy 95 is approved.
The round-a-bout is going to be constructed right before the northside of the I-10 overpass in Duson on LA Highway 95; in between Rascal's/Shop Rite and Love's Truck Stop.

According to officials, "level 1 funding" for the project was approved. The city of Duson agreed to pay $125,000, while Acadia Parish will pay $125,000, as well. The state will put $2,000,000 towards the project and the federal government will pay $2.5 million, officials tell EVEN News.
The project is expected to begin in the middle of 2024, however, we're told that could change. "These projects almost always gets delayed and the costs go up," a Duson official stated.
Currently, project officials are buying necessary rights of ways needed for the project and engineering.
"But it's a go."
