Acadiana school districts closing due to forecasted conditions Wednesday

With forecasts showing the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding, school districts across Acadiana are monitoring conditions and making schedule changes ahead of Wednesday, May 7.
Below is a list of confirmed decisions so far:
Lafayette Parish: All students will shift to remote learning. No in-person classes or after-school activities. Students must complete assigned work to be counted present. A decision for Thursday will be announced by 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Acadia Parish: Schools will be closed due to the threat of flooding and potentially hazardous road conditions. Learning packets will be sent home with students on Tuesday to complete during the closure.
Diocese of Lafayette schools will be closed on Wednesday.
