RAYNE, La. (ENN) — Reports say a 41-year-old citizen of Rayne was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday.
Ryan Trahan, 41, was struck by an unidentified car around six in the morning on Sunday while he was strolling eastward in the westbound lane of Highway 90, according to state police.
According to authorities, the car didn't stop and kept going west. At the scene of the collision, Trahan was declared deceased after suffering fatal injuries.
Investigations into the crash are still ongoing. It is recommended that anyone with information regarding the involved vehicle call Louisiana State Police Troop I at 337-262-5800. Walking close to and crossing roads safely is essential, according to state police. Traversing the flow of traffic at an angle allows pedestrians to predict oncoming cars.
