20-year-old killed, another injured in overnight shooting near Scott gas station: police

Scott, LA – A violent altercation that began inside a local nightclub ended in tragedy early Saturday morning when multiple fights spilled into the parking lot of a nearby gas station, culminating in gunfire that left one man dead and another injured.


According to the Scott Police Department, the chaos unfolded during the early hours of June 7th, following the conclusion of a concert. Several individuals reportedly exited the nightclub and crossed the roadway to a gas station in the 200 block of North Ambassador Caffery, where the fighting continued. Amid the altercation, multiple gunshots were fired.


Responding officers arrived quickly on scene and rendered aid to a male victim who had sustained several gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Kylon Calais, was pronounced dead shortly after. Authorities later confirmed that a second individual had also been wounded during the shooting and was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle. That individual is currently listed in stable condition.
