18-wheeler overturned at Duson/Mire exit on Tuesday evening

DUSON, La (EVEN) - Duson Fire Department and Lafayette Hazmat is currently on scene of an over turned 18-wheeler at the exit ramp of I-10 Eastbound Exit 92.

The eastbound exit ramp is currently shutdown while cleanup and recovery crews clear the scene.

According to the release, the 18-wheeler was carrying a highly corrosive chemical called Sodium Hydroxide.

Police ask motorists to avoid the area for now.
