School closures in Acadiana on Wednesday, May 19


With the expectation for more heavy rain this evening and tomorrow, some school districts might decide to close their campuses. This list will be updates through-out the night if a decision is made for any Acadiana school district. Check below to see if there is any so far:


Calcasieu Parish:

All Calcasieu Parish schools will remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday, May 19th.


Lafayette Parish:

Lafayette Parish schools will be closed tomorrow, May 19.


Vermilion Parish:

As of now, Vermilion Parish schools will re-open tomorrow, May 19. If any student is unable to make it to school due to flooded roads, they will be excused from school, according to Superintendent Tommy Byler, but they ask parents to remain in contact with their child's school.


Jeff Davis Parish:

All Jeff Davis parish schools will be closed tomorrow, May 19.


St. Landry Parish:

As of now, all St. Landry Parish schools will be open tomorrow, May 19. If a change is made, administration will contact parents with updates.


Acadia Parish:

NO closures has been announced in this parish.

Will update if that changes.


St. Mary Parish:

NO closures has been announced in this parish.

Will update if that changes.


St. Martin Parish:

NO closures has been announced in this parish.

Will update if that changes.


Iberia Parish:

NO closures has been announced in this parish.

Will update if that changes.
