Gov. Edwards announces new guidance for Louisiana amid rise of COVID-19 numbers.
Governor John Bel Edwards announced new guidance at Saturday’s press conference. Effective Monday at 12:01AM, all bars in the State of Louisiana will have to close their indoor services. Bars that do or don’t serve food are allowed to do curbside service.
He also announced a mask mandate that requires mask to be worn indoors and outdoors if a person isn’t capable of socially distancing. Businesses also will be required to only allow customers with masks to enter the stores.
Indoor gatherings are limited to 50 people, although there isn’t a limit for outside gatherings but people will need to social distance.
The numbers increased by 2,167 as of July 11.
Possible changes could be made on July 24th, when the current proclamation expires.
