Dr. Rachael Sanders appointed as Asst. Superintendent of St. Mary Parish Schools

On Friday, Dr. Rachael Sanders was appointed as the Assistant Superintendent of St. Mary Parish schools.

The appointment comes following the annoucement of Mr. Joseph Stadalis’s retirement, who served 32 years in the St. Mary Parish School System.

Dr. Teresa Bagwell, the Superintendent of the parish, released a statement announcing the appointment. “Beginning on June 1, 2022, a transition period will take place as Dr. Sanders assumes the Assistant Superintendent role,” Bagwell stated.

Dr. Sanders journey began in St. Mary Parish, 23 years ago, when she was hired as an English teacher at Patterson High School. She was eventually promoted to Asst. Principal of Morgan City High School before returning to Patterson High as Principal. She was a semi-finalist for Louisiana State Principal of the Year in 2016. Years later, she was hired as the Supervisor of the Alternative Program in St. Mary Parish before serving as the Supervisor of High Schools and Vocational Programs, also in St. Mary Parish.

“The dedication and student-oriented vision of both leaders is highly regarded and has contributed to the ongoing progress of St. Mary Parish School,” Bagwell stated.
