School districts across Acadiana are already closing their schools, considering the wintry weather we have been facing.
Below is a list of school districts closures for Friday, February 19th:
Acadia Parish School District- "APSS plans to resume normal operations on Monday, February 22, 2021."
Calcasieu Parish School District- "The school board says they will not be able to fully identify and repair pipe leaks until water pressure returns across the district."
Jeff Davis Parish School District- "All Jeff Davis Parish public schools will be closed Friday, February 19, 2021, according to John Hall, Asst. Superintendent."
Vermillion Parish School District- "Vermillion Parish public schools will be closed on Friday."
Evangeline Parish School District- "Superintendent Darwan Lazard says that due the impact of the recent winter storm, all schools and offices in the Evangeline Parish School District will be closed."
Iberia Parish School District- "Due to extended water issues and boil water advisories, public schools and offices will be closed in Iberia Parish on Friday, February 19, 2021."
Lafayette Parish School District- "Based on today’s assessment of facilities across the district, low water pressure, busted pipes, and heating issues remain a concern. "
St. Landry Parish School District- " The school systems says they are dealing a number of problems including water pressure, pipe leaks, and issues involving heating across the parish."

St. Martin Parish School District
Diocese of Lafayette Schools- "The closure is due to ongoing winter weather concerns in Acadiana. The Diocese says that classes will resume Monday, February 22."
