Schools in Acadiana are/have dismissed early due to inclement weather expected to come in Acadiana. Here is a list below:
Superintendent Scott Richard announced that all Acadia Parish schools will be closed at 11:30AM.
Superintendent Carey Laviolette said that all Iberia Parish schools will be closing early today due to the expectation of inclement weather. All of their middle and high schools will dismiss at 12:30pm, and their elementary schools will dismiss at 1pm.
All Lafayette Parish Public Schools will be dismissing at different times today due to the expectation of severe weather in the parish. The school dismissal times are below:
11:00 a.m. ALL LPSS High Schools
11:35 a.m. All LPSS Elementary Schools
12:15 p.m. All Middle Schools
Lafayette Christian Academy will be closing at 12 noon today due to expected inclement weather.
Carencro Catholic School will have an early dismissal at 11:30 am
St. Thomas More Catholic High School is closing at 12:45.
Tuerlings Catholic will have an early dismissal at 12:35 pm,
Westminster Christian Academy (Lafayette and Opelousas campuses) will have an early dismissal today at 12:00 pm.
First Baptist Christian School in Downtown Lafayette will close at 1:00 p.m.
Superintendent Tommy Byler says that all Vermillion Parish Public Schools will transition into an early dismissal protocol beginning at 12:30 pm.
All high schools will dismiss at 12:30 pm and elementary schools will dismiss at 1:00 pm or 1:15 pm.
Public schools in St. Mary Parish will close early on Wednesday March 17.
Superintendent Teresa Bagwell says the closures are due to the potential for the parish to experience severe weather at the time of school dismissal.
Middle and high school students will dismiss at 1:00 pm and elementary schools will dismiss at 1:30 pm.
