Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Acadia Parish on Monday night

MIRE, La (ENN) -- One person was struck by a vehicle while driving a dirtbike alongside of the road in Mire on Monday evening.

The incident occurred on LA Hwy 95 near Ozark Drive. Reports indicate that this is not a hit-and-run situation.

Officials say that only one lane on the roadway is open at this time.

The driver of the dirtbike sustained multiple injuries, and was airlifted to a local hospital.
